ChatGPT can now connect multiple Gmail, Google Calendar and Google Contacts accounts in the same conversation, reducing the friction of switching between personal and work context.

What's New

OpenAI added support for connecting multiple Google accounts to ChatGPT for Gmail, Google Calendar and Google Contacts. A user can now bring, for example, a personal Google account and a work Google account into the same ChatGPT environment instead of disconnecting one identity to use another. OpenAI says the update is available globally on supported Plus, Pro, Business and Enterprise plans across web, desktop, iOS and Android.

Why It Matters

The practical value is context aggregation. A planning task may depend on meetings from a work calendar, appointments from a personal calendar and email details stored in different inboxes. Previously, the user often had to collect that context manually before asking for help. Multiple connected Google accounts let ChatGPT search and reason across more than one authorized source inside the same conversation, making cross-account planning and retrieval a more natural workflow.

What Happened

OpenAI documented the feature in its August 28, 2026 ChatGPT release notes. The company specifically highlights checking calendars together and finding emails across connected inboxes. The Google accounts themselves remain separate identities; the change is that ChatGPT can access more than one authorized account for supported Google services when the user has connected them.

What's Next

As assistants connect to more accounts and services, source control becomes increasingly important. The useful question is not only whether an assistant can retrieve information, but whether users can clearly understand which connected account supplied it and choose the right source for each task.

TUF Take

This is a small interface change with a larger workflow effect. AI assistants become more useful when the user does not have to manually assemble context first. Multi-account support moves another piece of that work into the assistant layer while keeping the underlying accounts separately authorized.
