Choosing colors is only the first part of the job. The harder question is whether those colors still work once they reach an actual interface.
What's New
Coolors' current toolset combines palette generation with image-based color extraction, contrast checking, a Palette Visualizer and AI-assisted color suggestions. Its paid plan also includes Coolors AI for generating palettes, variations and color ideas.
Why It Matters
That moves the workflow beyond 'these colors look nice.' A designer can generate an idea, check contrast and preview the palette on a more realistic design before committing to it.
What Happened
Coolors has expanded from a fast palette generator into a broader color workflow. Generation is still the entry point, but accessibility checks and visualization now sit much closer to the original creative decision.
What's Next
The useful direction is making accessibility and real-design testing harder to ignore, while using AI to narrow decisions rather than simply generating more alternatives.
TUF Take
The upgrade is not having more colors to choose from. It is making fewer untested color decisions.
